River Rascals Fall Session

River Rascals Play & River Rascals Club: GATHERING - we meet on an asphalt pad (it was a basketball court decades ago) on the main walking trail that connects Ashford Drive to Yale Place. Find the connecting trail at the top of the cul-de-sac of Yale Place or on off Ashford Drive between numbers 60 & 62. We will have our check-in and opening there. We start our welcome song as punctually as possible which usually gives a few latecomers a chance to catch up. SONGS - enjoy some nursery rhyme style songs to help draw the group together with memorable rhythm and movement. STORYTIME & SNACK - bring your own low or no-waste drink and snack and sit with your child(ren) to enjoy some favourite stories. We encourage families to bring a small tarp or picnic blanket for this part of the program. Please bring a bottle of hand-wash or hand sanitizer for you and your child(ren). OUTDOORS - this program is outside from start to finish, rain or shine. Come prepared for outdoor fun! We will explore our little forest, look for bugs, send “boats” down the stream or rocks to splash in the water. If it is raining we will splash in puddles, if it is dry we will find a new trail in the woods. Lots of the kids (especially the more sure-footed children) will end up walking up and down the stream exploring the water. There is no indoor facility, so toilets are not available.
