Kid-friendly Halloween display at 26 Winnipeg Street. Open every day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with no jump scares during these hours. Weather permitting. Separate jump-scare hours run Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Donations support those in need.

Our Healthy Baby Club is a peer support program where expecting parents meet regularly to discuss pregnancy and birth topics with the guidance of a Healthy Baby Club Coordinator. Expecting parents register for the duration of their pregnancy and continue to receive support up to 6 weeks postnatal. Healthy Baby Club moms receive a weekly grocery gift card (Sobeys $25) to buy healthy food supplements identified to help during pregnancy, such as oranges, eggs, and milk. Transportation may be provided — please inquire with the Healthy Baby Club Coordinator. This group meets bi-weekly on Thursday evenings from 7:00–8:30 pm at our Kelligrews location, 974 Conception Bay Highway.

Hocus Pocus on the big screen at Get Messy NL on Friday, October 16, 6:30–8:00 p.m. Entry is FREE with a purchase of snacks (Halloween dirty popcorn, candy, dirty soda and more) or a Get Messy activity. Register to secure a spot, or drop in while capacity allows. Little ones who need to keep their hands busy during the movie can paint or make slime while they watch.

A family pumpkin carving party at Get Messy NL, Neils Pond Plaza — they clean up the mess! Running 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 17.

Free family trunk-or-treating at Sgt. Ned Nugent’s Park. Decorate your vehicle, bring candy, and register for this 1–2 p.m. session starting October 1 at 9 a.m.

A free, family-friendly Trunk or Treat in the church parking lot — kids can go car to car collecting Halloween treats from decorated trunks. Runs 2:00–4:00 p.m. or until treats run out. Costumes welcome! Everyone is welcome — "Come As You Are". More info at holyinnocents.ca.

A free Halloween evening stroll through Chamberlain’s Park with lights and decorations, a scavenger hunt, story readings and treats. For kids of all ages — wear a costume and bring a flashlight! Parking at 2570 Topsail Rd.; entrance at 17 Chaytor’s Rd., opposite Rosegate. Weather permitting — check the organizer’s Facebook page for updates.

Trick-or-treating at Easter Seals House for children registered with Easter Seals NL, the Cerebral Palsy Association of Newfoundland and Labrador, or CNIB. Decorated cars hand out treats, and after trick-or-treating families can stick around for a photo booth, games and activities. Pre-registration is mandatory and closes at 200 trick-or-treaters.

ASNL's (Avalon) Trunk or Treat at the Elaine Dobbin Centre for Autism. Spaces are limited and registration opens Monday, October 13 at 12:00 noon — this event fills up very quickly, so be ready to register promptly. Join our friends from Nature Newfoundland and Labrador for an amazing program about Nature's Misunderstood Creatures: Crows, Toads, Bats, and Rats. Best suited for ages 5–12.
